How to act during a job interview at Kmart?
June 3rd, 2009 | by admin |Layla asked:
I’m sixteen with no previous work experience. I am, however, responsible with good grades. When I’m nervous, though, I kind of act differently and speak fast. How can I remain calm during the interview, and what types of questions should I expect? And will they tell me on the spot if I am hired?

Dont pratice too much on how to act, Just go int here CONFIDENT. But not cocky…Answer all the questions the best way possible and honestly. Dont talk too much but don’t be too quiet. The Day of the interview,Eat a good breakfast and Take a deep breath before you go in there. If you think too hard or too much you may end up embarrassing yourself or messing up the whole thing. They will tell you on the spot if you’re hired if you impress them…BUT some people may need a few days to call you, some people may say they’ll call you (Just to end the interview).
Expect them to ask you
Why Do you want to work for our company?
Describe A previous experience where you had to manage or be a leader.
Where do You see yourself in 5 years
Give us an example of a situation where you faced conflict or difficult communication problems.
Why should we give you this job?

Just think to yourself that the person in front of you is a human just like you. They had to start just like you. That person is no better than you. It’s just a new friend that is asking questions about you as a friend. Be yourself like when you and your friends are talking. I mean what are you are they going to do, shoot you!? Tell them that your willing to learn anything they want to teach about the job.

When you first sit down to interview, I think it is okay to admit to the person interviewing you that you are nervous. I was a retail manager for 5 years and a recruiter for 3 years. Throughout my career I have probably interviewed 500 people.
While interviewing someone, if they told me they were nervous, the first thing I would do was to try put them at ease. When hiring for an hourly retail position I just needed to get a sense of the person’s work ethic and personality. It was in my best interest as an employer to get them comfortable with me.
Tell the interviewer you are nervous, but you are a kind, considerate, dependable, hard worker. Tell them you want the job and that you take your responcibilities seriously and I am sure they will love you. Even if I REALLY liked a candidate after interviewing them I would tell them that I thought they were great, but that I still needed to check references. Be yourself! Take a deep breath!
Good luck!
