How Does the Sleep Apnea Pillow Work?

My husband gained a bunch of weight and now he snores really badly. It is keeping me up and preventing him from having a good night sleep as well. I have heard that there is a special Sleep Apnea Pillow that you can get to help with this. Can anyone tell me how this works? I am trying to see whether or not something like this might be able to help with our problem. I have temporarily kicked him downstairs at night, but I would love to be able to sleep in the same room again so I am trying to find a solution to the snoring problem.
