Does Kmart automatically interview everyone who applies?

I ask because I applied to Kmart yesterday online and automatically at the end of the application they had me set up an appointment for an interview. Does this make the interview permanent? Or do I need to get a phone call first before it is permanent?

An interview isn’t permanent as such. Once given, it’s over. I’m not really sure I know what you’re asking. The interview is set up. Either you show up at the time and place given, or the interview can be by phone. They ask you questions and you answer. You’re normally given a chance to ask questions of your own. An interview doesn’t mean you’re hired. It’s just another step in the process.

The application does say that, but just ignore it. The personnel manager will look over all applications and will call anyone she is interested in for an interview.
