Could some explain to me how to work a cash register at a retail store such as kmart?

      Every cash register is different, and in the case of places like K-Mart, they use computers with touchscreens and stuff. No 2 places will be the same.

      But if you get a job somewhere like that, they will train you how to use them — they won’t expect you to already know it.

      ask the training department tomorrow, if those hired are trained for
      a few hours first. My family did the same thing at target 27 yrs ago.

      These cash registers are called POS systems or “point of sale” Large company’s such as Kmart will have there’s tailored to fit there needs. In general items are scanned. From that point the system will ask you to enter pay type and then swipe a card or take the card. There very simple to use once trained even for a first timer.
